L'asilo "The little Red Hen"

L'asilo dove va Angelo si chiama appunto  "The little Red Hen"

Angelo è contento di andare all'asilo e di fare nuove amicizie....anche se non capisce proprio tutto quello che gli dicono...ma pazienza, lui gli risponde o in poschiavino o in italiano e gli altri sorridono :-)

The Little Red Hen Centre for Early Childhood Care and Education, situated in Galway City, offers full and part time childcare to toddlers and pre school age children and also after school care. Also Montessori and Playgroup.

Montessori – age 2 and a half to 5 years

The Montessori is divided into two groups:

Junior Montessori - two years to go before national school.
Senior Montessori - one year to go before national school.

Both groups follow a Montessori curriculum which is modified and individualised to meet the needs and abilities of the children in each group. If you would like to come in and meet with our Montessori teacher and visit our Montessori classrooms please contact us to make an appointment. We would be very happy to give you a full explanation of how the specialized Montessori equipment helps your child grow and develop.

Other activities enjoyed by the pre-school age children are:

Connemara & Cong Tour

Sabato abbiamo deciso di fare un'esecusione nel Connemara...

Il Connemara è la regione a nord di Galway fatta di paesaggi incontaminati, torbiere, vallate solitarie, montagne dalle cime ricoperte di cielo e laghetti scintillanti tutta da esplorare girando in macchina senza meta e fermandosi ad ogni esplosione di natura.

I paesaggi più belli sono quelli che si trovano nel cuore della regione, quelli che vanno da Maam Cross a nord-ovest verso Leeane o a nord-est fino a Cong attraversando la famosa Joyce Country (la terra di Joyce).

 

 

Nel Connemara è localizzata una delle più importanti aree Gaelatach (aree in cui si parla l'irlandese) del paese. Questa zona coincide esattamente con la città di Barna e continua verso ovest fino a Spiddal. A Costello poi c'è la sede della radio nazionale che trasmette in gaelico.

La porta d'ingresso del Connemara è Oughterard, una cittadina situata sulla strada che va da Galway a Clifden da cui si gode di un fantastico panorama che spazia su laghi, montagne e torbiere, e che mano a mano che si procede verso ovest diventa davvero spettacolare.

The magic Aran Islands

Oggi splendida giornata di sole e caldo....abbiamo deciso di fare un giro sull'isola maggiore delle "Aran Islands - Inis Mòr"
 

Inis Mór Island

The island of Inis Mór (meaning the big island) is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ireland. Well known internationally, it is steeped in history and resembles an outdoor museum with over 50 different monuments of Christian, pre Christian and Celtic mythological heritage. There isn’t far you can go before being somewhere where there’s something of historical interest and little reason to question its importance in modern Irish Culture.

An outdoor Museum

The islands featured monument is the world heritage site of Dun Aonghasa Fort which stands over a dramatic 300 foot cliff that spans the entire western part of the island and faces the moods of Atlantic sea. Others include the Black Fort set over cliffs, the seven Churches, St Benins Church perched isolated on a hill at the southern tip of the island, Temphaill Chieran, and the old Light House at the islands highest point. Other places of a geological nature include the worm hole which is a large natural square hole in the ground beside the sea, and the puffing holes where inland holes in the ground, fountain water on a turbulent day.

 
A Unique Landscape
The islands inland landscape of uniquely blanketed rock surface are glazed with man made rock walls that meander and cross all directions as far as one can see. Such does this environment draw you in and inspire the creative spirit, it is little wonder that the island has played host to many internationally renowned artists and writers including the setting for the Film Man of Aran which immotalized the Aran Islands culture.

 
Beaches & Activities

The eastern side of the island with clear views of Connemara’s 12 pins mountain range is a splattering of some of Europes cleanest white sandy beaches fronting onto clear turquoise water and is host to a variety of water activities. The fishing port of Kilronan harbour is dotted with yachts in summer and is a hive of activity particularly in summer when in Kilronan village there are numerous festivals and places to eat and drink. The favoured activies for holiday makers on the island are walking, fishing, cycling, swimming, sight seeing and just relaxing in the magnetic, majestic, magical energy of the island itself.

È stata una giornata indimenticabile con un panorama ed un tempo spettacolari.

Finalmente si respira aria di primavera...

Che bello poter girare in t-shirts e mettere i piedi in acqua. Sembra arrivata, forse...la primavera anche qui.

Dopo un momento di relax....





...c'è chi deve lavorare...io e Angelo siamo in vacanza...ma lui no :-)



...non esageriamo con la serietà...!

Angelo e il mare

Non c'é che dire, Angelo si gode un mondo a giocare con la sabbia e l'acqua del mare della baia di Galway. La cosa più interessante è andare a caccia di conchiglie, alghe, sassi... speriamo non voglia portarsi tutto quello che raccatta sulla spiaggia a Poschiavo, altrimenti i 15 kg a testa non bastano :-)
